# 8.1 system.tag.configure collision policy merge doesn't update bindings

Trying to update an alarm property which has a binding via scripting. However, when using the collision policy merge it doesn’t work. Is this intended? We can’t use the overwrite policy because other tag properties on the UDT instance will be overridden and will not receive future updates.
