# Alarm notification not sent if tag Ack Mode set to unused

If alarm acknowledgement is not used alarm notifications are not sent.

Tim,

When the ack mode is set to unused then the alarm is always marked as ‘acknowledged’. By default one of the alarm dropout conditions is if the alarm is ‘acknowledged’. This would prevent the alarm from ever making it to the alarm pipeline. If you set the ‘acknowledged’ dropout condition to false you should now get a notification.
