# Automatic project Backup

Hi All,

Is there a way to create automatic project Back ups?

I have scheduled Gateway Backups already but was looking for a way to schedule Project back ups as well?  
Is it a possibility?

No, although your scheduled gateway backups will contain all of your projects as well.

You _can_ use an external tool, if you’re using Ignition 8 - because project resources are now stored on the filesystem, you can just automatically snapshot the `<ignition directory>/data/projects/` folder periodically.
