[Bug-11993] Webdev module not working in Beta

The ‘Dairy Demo Simulator’ is one of the built in simulators - in <=7.9 versions, it’s part of the Allen Bradley Drivers module, while in 8.0 it’s been moved into the OPC-UA module.

The downloaded version says 3.9.10, on installing it on Ignition 8, I get error "Faulted
Required Major Version Mismatch" ! Is it not compatible with Ignition 8? Which version is it compatible with ? How to download the version compatible with Ignition 8? Are there different versions of WebDev available for different versions of Ignition?

You need to use the 8.0 version of the module, available on the same beta downloads page: https://inductiveautomation.com/downloads/ignition-8-beta

Thanks it worked!
The version 3.9.10 is for which version(s) of Ignition?

The "WebDev" resource doesn't appear in the "project browser" window of New designer after Installing the WebDev version 8 in new designer!

Check your module is installed and running in the gateway... its working fine for me

Perhaps its the latest build. I haven’t yet updated from my last month’s build (around Nov 27). I will check it.
Thanks for the update.
best regards

No I don’t seem to get the web dev module working! I just updated to latest build of Ignition 8!

Whereas the WebDev module is shown as Installed on configuration page!

Is there any thing mising!

Can you post the logs from the designer console? There may be an error with starting the module in the client scope.

Same is enclosed

I uninstalled and reinstalled the webdev module but still it gives the null pointer error on designer console log .

Did you download a new WebDev module from the beta page? I don’t know if that’s included in the installer and your screenshot shows you’re running an older WebDev module than the rest of the modules.

I downloaded it from https://inductiveautomation.com/downloads/ignition-8-beta . The config page shows version as 4.0.0-beta0 (b2018121010)

Looks like a bug caused by a change we made to the icons. I’ve filed an internal ticket, and we’ll get it fixed soon.

Did you find any issues? I just upgraded the new build, but still gives the null pointer exception in the designer logs for the webdev module.

Incidently I get the following warning while installing the new build of Ignition 8 over the previous one:

Anything that I need to do? I tried restarting the module but error remains.

On upgrading to latest version of WebDev (4.0.0-beta0 (b2018121410)), it worked fine. Thanks

I wonder what are these number is brackets such as [+8668], [+8699] etc!

They are milliseconds since the launch started.

Ok thanks, i thought its something to do with their address in memory , as they are in ascending order. Time in milliseconds makes sense.
