This is [a known issue](http://forum.inductiveautomation.com/t/bug-13754-graphic-artifacts-in-sub-templates-on-popup-page-when-bad-tag-quality-overlays-clear/25666/4?u=witman) with transparency on some components in Ignition 8. Until it is fixed, repainting as discussed in the linked thread is a possible workaround.
