# \[Bug-5210\] UDT String Parameters Wrapped in Quotes

Hi,

It seems bug 2925 only addressed the string fields like .Documentation.

Continuing the discussion from [Nightly 8.1 Changelogs - 2021](https://forum.inductiveautomation.com/t/nightly-8-1-changelogs-2021/42410/166):

Any string UDT parameters bi directionally written to are still wrapped in quotes.

Thank you for reporting this. I have reproduced the issue with UDT params myself and have created an internal bug ticket to address this. We likely missed out on UDT params when we fixed standard tag props in ticket # 2925.

As of today, the ticket for this issue is currently in our backlog, ready to be picked up by a developer.

This issue has been fixed earlier today internally, it should ship in 8.1.17 (it missed our cutoff for 8.1.16) and nightlies after today.
