Hello!

Is there any way to access the Laptop Camera to scan the Barcode, the same way we do it with the Mobile Camera?

Thanks and Regards,

> I am very very new to Ignition 8.1, maybe it's a silly question. I am able to access the Camera from the Perspective App, but when I open a Chrome browser, and click on the same button, to open the camera, it doesn't, but the tag values are getting updated in Chrome as well as Perspective.

You have tagged this as Vision and Perspective, the methodology will differ for each.

Vision has an IP camera component but to my knowledge cannot natively process barcodes.

In vision I have used keyence scanner for 2D barcodes, but using a PLC as a middle-man.

Even if a Perspective session in the browser could access your laptop camera it wouldn't be able to scan barcodes. Barcode recognition is a function of iOS and Android, which is why you only find it in the mobile apps.

On a PC you need to use an external barcode scanner.
