# Can docked view save state?

How to make a docked view retain its state (show/hide) when navigating to another page. I want the user to be able to open/close my menu on the left via the standard button, but the menu should not close when navigating to another page within the current session.

I'm pretty sure this is the default way docked view handles work. If you configure a docked view to **Handle - Show** , the docked view will stay open when a user opens the view, and close when the user closes it. I presume that's what you meant by the 'standard button'. The menu stays open when a user navigates to different views within the session scope.

Unless I misunderstood what you're asking, that is.
