Hi everyone,

I’m new to Ignition, and I’m running into an issue with SVG files in Perspective. Here’s the workflow I’ve tried:

1. I used Inkscape to prepare my SVG—ungrouped all elements and assigned unique IDs so that I can edit each object (e.g. tanks, text labels).
2. I exported as “Plain SVG” and then imported it into a Perspective View by dragging & dropping and choosing “Save and Link.”
3. In Inkscape, I can select, move, and resize individual objects. However, once it’s in Perspective (Designer or Session), the SVG behaves as one single image—none of the IDs or individual paths are accessible.

My goal is to bind and edit individual SVG elements (for example, update the text inside a tank or change a valve color dynamically).

- Is there a way to import/edit an SVG so that each object remains separate in Perspective?
- Am I missing a specific component or workflow step?
- Are there any recommended modules or tools (e.g., the “Simple SVG Editor” project) I should install to achieve this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Don't save and link, choose embed.

Edit: I just saw your svg which is an entire p&id page including devices etc. You will have a tough time animating all of those elements. I would definitely be removing at least the devices and creating template views for them

I chose embeded already, but my file is too big Ignition can't load image perfectly. And main problem is remaining, I can not edit an individual object

You _can_ edit individual components, but only via its props.elements properties. You cant get edit svgs in perspective, but that's coming in v8.3.

And yes, for large complex svgs, you will also struggle with performance in clients
