# Cant find Datasource History Tag Provider

Looking to create new Datasoruce History tag Provider but can’t see the option to create one !

You don’t manually create datasource history providers. They’re automatically created for each datasource you add.

Ohh ! I see. Do i have to add any tables in the new database ?

or just create a blank database ?

As long as the Ignition user has access to create tables on the specified DB, they’ll be automatically created _once you start storing history_.
