# Can't install 8.3 on Mac Sequioa 15.6.1

What kind of Mac is this, is it an Intel mac? If so, that’s likely the reason. Ignition 8.3 drops macOS on Intel support and switches to Apple Silicon. Please see relevant post if needed [macOS DMG & zip - #3 by gnguyen](https://forum.inductiveautomation.com/t/macos-dmg-zip/100911/3)
