# Can't Open Project Window Due to Unsupported Component

I just installed Ignition 8.1.12 to test with, and I can’t open the main window for editing because it contains the Sepasoft Barcode Scanner component which isn’t supported by version 8. How can I remove the component in order to open the designer window?

If you shift + right-click on the window in the tree can you copy the XML to clipboard?

Darn. You might have to delete it in 7.9 and re-import the project or window or something.

Never mind, it turns out they do offer a version for 8.1, doh! I was looking on Sepasoft’s website, but it was sitting in the Inductive Automation downloads page the whole time, lol.
