I have a PLC where I'm pulling the data from arrays and inserting it into a dataset one of the columns is a date but its put out as a string and Ignition will not format it correctly so I have to import `datetime`, use `datetime.strptime()` and then put it in a table, so good so far.

Now I'm trying to chart the data so I formatted the table with the following script:

```python
from datetime import datetime
column = 0
d_column = 22
x = []
series = {}
for row in value:
        y = round(row[column],2)
        z = str(row[d_column])
        series = {'Pressure' : y, 'time' : z}
        x.append(series)
```

Series look something like:

`data = [{'time': '2026-10-12 15:59:00.0', 'Pressure': 5114.77},{...},...]`

The issue is that the component is still showing Error but there is nothing that tells me what the error is, there is nothing on the Property panels. All I see is this:

Generally speaking, Ignition expects datetimes to be either Java Date objects or integer epoch milliseconds, as in something like `1791925266000`. Strings cannot be unambiguously parsed into dates without external knowledge of the exact input format.

If you're starting from a string, you can use [`system.date.parse`](https://www.docs.inductiveautomation.com/docs/8.3/appendix/scripting-functions/system-date/system-date-parse) to turn a string into a Java Date object given a known string format, and then use the `time` property or [`system.date.toMillis`](https://www.docs.inductiveautomation.com/docs/8.3/appendix/scripting-functions/system-date/system-date-toMillis) to convert to that epoch milliseconds representation.

Your script is a bit incomplete/unclear, though - what is the actual "shape" of the data you're trying to render on the chart?

So I had another script to move the `tag dataset` `[100 rows, 23 cols]` to the component `table` I do this to be able to format the time. Original time is `13.10.2026 13:16` I just changed the formatting to use `system.date.parse` with no issues, when I try to bind the data directly from the `table` to the `chart` it doesn't like it so I figured I had to format it with the `list` of `dicts` as above. The only missing part of the script is the definition and the return, which is `x` at the end.

At the end I'm able to change the date to epoch in the chart but still shows same error on the faceplate.
