I am trying to connect to a Maria DB that resides on another system.
Below is the error that I receive via the Gateway.

This is my current issue.

java.sql.SQLException: Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (Host ‘[pdcwvapwnc01.sephoraus.com](http://pdcwvapwnc01.sephoraus.com/)’ is not allowed to connect to this MariaDB server) at org.apache.commons.dbcp2.BasicDataSource.createPoolableConnectionFactory(BasicDataSource.java:2385) at org.apache.commons.dbcp2.BasicDataSource.createDataSource(BasicDataSource.java:2110) at org.apache.commons.dbcp2.BasicDataSource.getConnection(BasicDataSource.java:1563) at com.inductiveautomation.ignition.gateway.datasource.DatasourceImpl.getConnectionInternal(DatasourceImpl.java:257) at com.inductiveautomation.ignition.gateway.datasource.DatasourceImpl.runTest(DatasourceImpl.java:211) at com.inductiveautomation.ignition.gateway.datasource.DatasourceManagerImpl$FaultedDatasourceRetryer.lambda$newRetryRunnable$0(DatasourceManagerImpl.java:1059) at com.inductiveautomation.ignition.common.execution.impl.BasicExecutionEngine$TrackedTask.run(BasicExecutionEngine.java:565) at java.base/java.util.concurrent.Executors$RunnableAdapter.call(Unknown Source) at java.base/java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.runAndReset(Unknown Source) at java.base/java.util.concurrent.ScheduledThreadPoolExecutor$ScheduledFutureTask.run(Unknown Source) at java.base/java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor.runWorker(Unknown Source) at java.base/java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(Unknown Source) at java.base/java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Host ‘[pdcwvapwnc01.sephoraus.com](http://pdcwvapwnc01.sephoraus.com/)’ is not allowed to connect to this MariaDB server at org.mariadb.jdbc.internal.com.read.ReadInitialHandShakePacket.(ReadInitialHandShakePacket.java:92) at org.mariadb.jdbc.internal.protocol.AbstractConnectProtocol.handleConnectionPhases(AbstractConnectProtocol.java:783) at org.mariadb.jdbc.internal.protocol.AbstractConnectProtocol.connect(AbstractConnectProtocol.java:507) at org.mariadb.jdbc.internal.protocol.AbstractConnectProtocol.connectWithoutProxy(AbstractConnectProtocol.java:1195) at org.mariadb.jdbc.internal.util.Utils.retrieveProxy(Utils.java:560) at org.mariadb.jdbc.MariaDbConnection.newConnection(MariaDbConnection.java:174) at org.mariadb.jdbc.Driver.connect(Driver.java:92) at org.apache.commons.dbcp2.DriverConnectionFactory.createConnection(DriverConnectionFactory.java:53) at org.apache.commons.dbcp2.PoolableConnectionFactory.makeObject(PoolableConnectionFactory.java:291) at org.apache.commons.dbcp2.BasicDataSource.validateConnectionFactory(BasicDataSource.java:2395) at org.apache.commons.dbcp2.BasicDataSource.createPoolableConnectionFactory(BasicDataSource.java:2381) … 12 more 8.0.17 (b2020111211) Azul Systems, Inc. 11.0.7

`Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Host ‘pdcwvapwnc01.sephoraus.com’ is not allowed to connect to this MariaDB server`

Your MariaDB server is rejecting the connection entirely. You need to change the permissions on your DB server to allow the connection from whatever user _and host_ Ignition is connecting from.
