# Contract work available

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for someone with solid **Ignition experience** to help with some **contract work focused purely on UDT creation**.

**Scope (intentionally narrow):**

- Designing clean, reusable UDTs

- Strong use of parameters, inheritance, and naming standards

- No UI work, scripting, or gateway configuration — **UDTs only**

**Required experience:**

- Industrial protocols: **Modbus, DNP3, and SNMP**

- Strong understanding of how protocol data maps into Ignition UDTs

**Preferred (but not required):**

- Background in **electrical engineering**

- Experience with **substations** and **renewable energy systems** (solar, wind, BESS, etc.)

This is **paid contract work** with flexible timing. The work can be done independently and on your own schedule. We’ve built an internal **UDT creation tool** to streamline the process and are looking for some extra help to work through an extensive set of device manuals (approximately **30** ).

Hi Craig,

This looks like an interesting project. I work with Ignition regularly and UDT design with proper parameterization and inheritance is a core part of what I do.

I am also well versed in Modbus, DNP3, and SNMP protocol mapping which seems pretty central to this scope.
