# Created Modbus COM device, no longer can

Hey guys, perhaps a bug…? I created a new Modbus device to talk to a COM port. After I saved the device the page showed an internal error. Now the device is not in the device connections list and I can no longer add a Modbus device to talk to a COM port.

Restart appeared to fix the issue, my device was in the list waiting for me. However when I went to modify it, I got Internal Error again.

Can you zip and attach your wrapper.log files from the install/logs dir?

These logs are from a 7.9.10 system. Did you mean to post this in the beta category? Or maybe the wrong logs? I don’t see any of the internal errors.

Looks like you’re running a pretty old version of the beta. Can you upgrade and see if it still happens?
