Hello,

I read several of the posts about creating tables and lists. However, I need to create a dynamic table that populates only when needed.

Example:

A parcel sorter has 600 potential destinations (100 to 700)

When a box is designated for a chute, I need that information to show up in the table.

Once the box has been diverted, I need it to disappear.

</div>

What tells the system of those two conditions? Are they events, like changes in tag values?

Yes. When these are inducted, the system assigns them an ID and a destination (chute ID), based on the barcode. When it comes to that chute the system will divert it.

I would do this in a database table with an id, the destination chute and a status.

- insert into the table when one is inducted
- change the status when it is diverted, or if it's manually taken out of the queue.

Yes and we do have that database.

However, can I make it disappear from the display table when there is nothing in route to that chute. Basically I only want active traffic.

The query takes care of what to display

As an example, when one is inducted, create a new entry in the table with a status of 0.
When the package is sorted, set the status to 1

To display active parcels:

```sql
SELECT * FROM my_table WHERE status=0
```

</div>

I see where you're coming from.

And I would set this to re-query every 2 seconds.
No, here is the tricky part (something I have to be careful with) ... I only want this querying to happen when that screen (tab) is active.

`SELECT * FROM my_table WHERE status=LogicallyFull`

I wouldn't worry about it, personally. I would make a query tag, and point all the clients that need it to that tag.

Okay, this is on Vision at the moment. Next year, they want to convert this toPerspective so they can use HTTPS access. Would this solution work the same in Perspective?

Yes. I have a mix of clients here, all using that method.
