# Custom property on UDT folder not visible to items in UDT folder

When building complex UDT’s that contain folders, the folders can have custom properties.  
But, the items inside each folder cannot bind to the custom properties on the containing folder.  
(the items in each folder can bind to various other properties, but the custom properties on the containing folder are not in the list).  
Am I missing something? Is that by design?
