# Do memory tags only update on value change?

I am running a gateway timer script that populates memory tags between 0 and 1, and it appears that the script is running properly but the last published values are not constantly updating at the rate the timer is. Does this last published value only change if the value changed?

Is there a way to get it to automatically update at the rate specified in the timer?

No, sorry, this behavior is pretty well baked into the tag system.

You’ll have to actually change the value or take some other approach for whatever it is you’re trying to accomplish.
