# Do you need a user source when SAML IdP

Hello,

I just setup a SAML IdP in ignition with azure entra id, I haven't figured out how to get the roles mapped yet but I was wondering, do you need a user source as well with this type of authentication setup?

No. External IdPs have no relation to Ignition User Sources.
