# Does The Voice Notification Module Also Require The Katherine Module

I’m trying to better understand if the voice notification module will function on its own (call outs for alarms) or does it also require the “voices” module aka Katherine (US)

You do need at least one voice module installed to perform the actual text-to-speech, yes.
