I have email alarm notifications working out of my Edge Panel (Perspective visualization) application.

I am struggling with configuring the message. It appears that all the pipeline configuration is in the gateway.

I went to the UDT for my test, digital alarm and tried writing an expression for the alarmed parameter's "Custom Message" field and could not effect any change to the message of the emails I am getting.

Still learning to navigate the manual, but could not find any help there.

Thank you for any help.

Edit: I have a license, but haven't applied until I domain join the device. Am under trial.

Email message is adjusted via the alarm pipeline notification block, which should be accessible via the designer.

> As the name suggests, the Notification block is responsible for sending notifications. Each notification block can target multiple notification profiles, which represents different methods of notification, but it will only notify the user on the...

Edge doesn't use full alarm pipelines, it uses a simplified alarm notification structure that's equivalent (as far as I know) to the 'simple one way' notification:

> **[Simple One-Way Email Notification Profile | Ignition User Manual](https://www.docs.inductiveautomation.com/docs/8.1/ignition-modules/alarm-notification/notification-profile-types/simple-one-way-email-notification-profile)**
>
> The Simple One-Way Email Notification profile is another type of Email Notification profile that can be set up to notify people when alarms occur. This one-way email notification profile is just as the name suggests, one way. It listens for active...

That said, it _should_ still be using the custom message value from the tag (as long as only one message is being sent at a time).
