# Email notification module for system.net.sendEmail

Hey all,  
We're looking at having emails sent when certain alarm statuses are triggered.

Can we use `system.net.sendEmail` without the Alarm notification module, or will this script / SMTP config not work without that.

When I uninstall the trial module, email settings on the gateway still appears

You should still be able to send emails with `system.net.sendEmail`, it's not related to the notification module.
