# \[FEATURE\] Allow Copy/Paste of root prop object (props, custom, params, etc.)

Frequently i'll create a prop as an object purely so that I can easily copy and paste it (with or without bindings), but it would be really nice to be able to copy and paste the entire root prop objects themselves like `custom`, `props`, `params`, `position`, `meta`, etc. by right clicking on the objects themselves.

e.g. (mockup)

The other way I do this is by copying the entire View and then finding the object in the json and copying it that way, but that's a PITB.

For now, i've added it into my Ignition tools to extract this out via script (and also allow pasting _with bindings_ as well).

Bumping this for posterity.

Just an example of the PITA of this shortcoming.

You have an array with custom indirect bindings on portions of it.

(Think Perspective Map component, Layers, UI, Markers)

You right click copy the array point, right click paste on the second array point and none of the bindings come with it. Not a huge deal when dealing with single, double, entries etc. but when you are talking about 30 to 40 points with 5 or so bindings in each it gets really tiresome having to go and right click copy binding, right click paste binding 5 times for each array item…
