# Force lock release of Window in Designer

v7.9.12

We have two developers working on an Ignition system, and we are constantly running into locked resources, despite the resource being closed and saved by the other engineer. The only way to release the lock that we’ve found, is by closing the Designer session and waiting a few minutes.

Is there a way to force this lock to be released, without closing the Designer?

If there is a way to force the lock to be released it would be good to know. I’ve run in to the lock a number of times. I haven’t had to closed the designer session before but I always have to wait a few minutes before the lock will release.
