Is this Vision or Perspective? In the former, standard java can get the [current default locale](https://docs.oracle.com/en/java/javase/11/docs/api/java.base/java/util/Locale.html#getDefault()). In the latter, simply reference the `locale` [session property](https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC81/Session+Properties).

In the vision client you can use `system.util.getLocale()` to get a string representing the current locale. [Docs](https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC81/system.util.getLocale)
