Good day,

I am trying to build something like this in ignition perspective:

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/inductiveautomation/original/3X/1/a/1aea239ec377d4ce23bb7ae85812ef1bb0b74b06.png)

I am using an **XYChart**

xAxis defined as **Date**

yAxis defined as **Category**

The data I am using is like this

 ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/inductiveautomation/original/3X/7/1/714873e1a97adfbae470c1422f5e83c9d1a2fe3d.png)

the idea is to position in the chart with ‘x’ and then plot a column with ‘dur’ width.

But somehow I am not able to do that, can anyone give me some light with an idea?

Thanks in advance

I would start by playing with the example in the manual.

> **[XY Chart Example - Gantt Chart | Ignition User Manual](https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/docs/8.3/appendix/components/perspective-components/perspective-chart-palette/perspective-xy-chart/xy-chart-example-gantt-chart)**

> In addition to basic data plotting, an XY Chart can be used to plot horizontal bar across different lanes, in this fashion:

Then come up with a strategy based on your data. It could as simple using an end\_date instead of **dur** (duration). Assuming dur is in minutes, you could convert to milliseconds then calculate the end\_date based on **x** with **system.date.addMillis(x, durMillis)**.

Date add functions link:

> **[system.date.add\* | Ignition User Manual](https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/docs/8.3/appendix/scripting-functions/system-date/system-date-add)**

Take a look at this Exchange item. [Ignition Exchange | Inductive Automation](https://inductiveautomation.com/exchange/1514/overview)

It takes a bit to figure out how to model up your data, but once you do it's not to bad. But the chart comes out like you want.
