# Gateway (Client) Scripts Launching from Designer

Do Gateway Scripts (for instance, startup scripts) run when launching from the designer?  
I have a single tag write written on startup, but it doesn’t seem to be working (when launching from Designer). I haven’t tried launching a client yet.

_Gateway_ start-up scripts would fire when the _gateway_ starts.

Do you mean _Project_ start-up script?

Ah. That would be the issue. _Client startup script_ is what I was looking for.

I’m pretty sure client startup and shutdown scripts do _not_ execute within the designer, also.

Not within designer, but when _launching_ from designer it does execute
