# Gateway faulted, nothing works

Hello, recently I got a computer that was being used by one of my coleagues. After changing the user, ignition stopped working.  
I uninstalled everything and reinstaled. It worked, but when I try to restore our gateway backup, I get stuck in a _Gateway Faulted /Gateway not running_ state.

I've tried several options as found on the forum, such as deleting cache, restart ignition service, delete the cacerts file, but nothing seems to work. Maybe I'm missing a step. I attach the wrapper hoping to find some help. This is a summary of the errors:

This looks suspicious:

Your upload of your gateway backup was corrupted, I think.

Consider using the command line tool for staging a restore.

Thank you, both.

The fact that there was a chance that the backup was corrupted gave me a hint. Went to another computer, to get the files directly from the device instead of our server and found that my coleague was working with a different, previous version. Now that makes sense...
