Is it possible to restore a single project from a gateway backup? I would like to restore it to another name without wiping out the current project. Is this possible?

Assuming the .gwbk is from 8.0.0 or newer, any projects it contains will be directly named folders within. You can extract just those project(s) you care about, zip them back up, and reimport into the gateway/designer under another name.

Or, if you want a GUI to do it for you, you can open the .gwbk in Kindling:

> A standalone collection of utilities to help Ignition users. Features various tools to help work with Ignition's custom data export formats.

Yes, it is version 8.1, I don't need a gui interface, but don't understand how to see the folders inside of the .gwbk file. Can you list the steps?

It's just a zip file. Open it with any tool that can open zips, or change the file extension, or whatever else you need to do in your OS.
