# Get Alarm Status Script

I am attempting to use `system.alarm.queryStatus()` to get the status for a single alarm. I've tried it with the path to the tag and the path to the individual alarm. What path should I be passing to `path` (or `source`)?

```python
system.alarm.queryStatus(path = ["[default]Generator/Generator_Test_Pushbutton"])

```

```python
system.alarm.queryStatus(source = ["[default]Generator/Generator_Test_Pushbutton/Alarms/Testing"])

```

Ok, so I was able to get a result using this and I can see why my `path` wasn't working before. I'd say path/source will almost always need to use wildcards, just in a way that helps you only get the alarm(s) you want because the path is pretty weird.

```python
system.alarm.queryStatus(path = ["*Generator_Test_Pushbutton*"])

```

```python
[{Source: 'prov:default:/tag:Generator/Generator_Test_Pushbutton:/alm:Testing', Display Path: 'GEN', UUID: '01f9b3b1-4ea7-49a3-b348-66b7669971eb', Current State: 'Active, Acknowledged', Priority: 'Low', Active Data: {setpointA=1.0, eventValue=true, name=Testing, eventTime=Wed Sep 30 08:23:24 CDT 2026, label=Generator Testing Mode, displayPath=GEN}, Clear Data: null, Ack Runtime Data: {isShelved=false}}]

```
