# Get license key with sript

Does anyone have a script on hand for getting the license key installed in the gateway with gateway scripting?

Start by getting the [license manager](https://files.inductiveautomation.com/sdk/javadoc/ignition81/8.1.1/com/inductiveautomation/ignition/gateway/model/GatewayContext.html#getLicenseManager()) from the gateway context. (Look around on the forum for the starting point, or use [Paul's extension module](https://github.com/IgnitionModuleDevelopmentCommunity/ignition-extensions). It is deliberately undocumented and its use unsupported.)
