# Get value from hovered slice in a Pie Chart

Anyone knows how to get the value from the currently hovered slice in a pie chart?

In the below figure, the value 21438 should be collected, and written to a custom property in e.g. another component:

In Ignition version 8.1.10 there is a new selection property on the Pie Chart component that contains selection related information. This can be used to get the currently selected value etc. Not by hovering the slice, but it will do for now 😌
