# Getting alarms in a gateway running 7.9 from a gateway running ignition 8.1

Is there a way that a gateway running ignition 7.9 show alarms from a gateway running 8.1 ?

Hi Andrew,

I have seen instances of 8.1 gateways connecting to 7.9 gateways through GAN, and using remote profiles this would technically be possible.
