# Gradient Color Style Perspective

Is it possible to utilize gradient colors like shown in the image above and apply them to styles in Ignition Perspective?

Yes, unfortunately it is. But don’t be despondent; it’s also possible to make gradients that aren’t an offense to the senses.

- Click the `props.style` modify style icon.
- Select _Background_.
- In the _Background Image_ field put in something like:
- `linear-gradient(CornflowerBlue, Blue)` ![CSS home button](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/inductiveautomation/original/3X/3/0/30acc697401c875cb6f9c4b9612a3d7eab205fdc.png)  
or
- `linear-gradient(#7777cc, #000055)` ![CSS home button 2](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/inductiveautomation/original/3X/0/5/055572a7c66bc2fbcf809bdf9aed7de0d6592d54.png)

Please, please do some research on good GUI design and layout and have a look at the work of professionals on Windows and phone apps and how good design doesn’t distract or detract from the application.
