# .\\gwcmd : Error! java.lang.Exception: No response from Gateway, backup could not be retrieved

This error pops up nondeterministically, and requires a gateway service restart to fix.

Obviously the answer is somewhere in the logs, but is there something specific I should be looking for? or just anything about backups

Ignition doesn't naturally run `gwcmd` itself. You should look for some kind of scheduled task, possibly (probably?) **outside** Ignition.

Oh, I know what task is running that. What I’m curious is why the backup I’m trying to take is failing
