I've been using an alarm status table as a blanket historian for while now, thinking that it would keep a running record of all the alarms generated. An operator recently pointed out that the status table only has 1 instance of two of the most frequently tripped alarms in my system.

Does the alarm status table on have capacity for one entry of a particular alarm? If so would a different component, such as the alarm status journal, provide a more accurate running log of events?

Correct, status shows active/live alarm statuses. The Alarm Journal shows the history of the alarms.
