# How to connect Designer from my computer to Ignition gateway on Azure cloud server

Hi,

I've installed Ignition Gateway on a Azure cloud server. How can I now connect Designer from my computer to that gateway? Thanks for your help.

Are you able to get to the Gateway admin web pages? If so, put that address _ **manually** _ into your designer launcher to add that gateway.

No, I'm not able to get to Gateway web pages. The only way I can connect to that server is by remote desktop, which I downloaded from Azure admin page.

@catherine.fowler describes, how to open port to connect to the azure server. I've done it and it works. Is this safe?
