# How to track value changes on gateway

Hey everyone,

I'm trying from the start to really optimize the gateway that is rolling out to a jobsite.

In reading this article: [Ignition Server Sizing and Architecture Guide | Inductive Automation](https://inductiveautomation.com/resources/article/ignition-server-sizing-and-architecture-guide)

It states that Value Changes are key to the load on the gateway. My issue is I do not know how to quantify how many value changes are currently happening.

Can someone point me to a Metrics Dashboard item or some other means to see how many value changes are happening on a certain tag provider on the gateway?

Just checking again to see if this could be something that the SDK could provide?
