v.8.1.24

A customer recently raised an issue where he's unable to log into the gw web portal. He goes to log in and it just sits there thinking for minutes. He waited 15minutes one time and it hadn't moved. I'm not sure how to even go about diagnosing this?
What loggers would be useful?

We're just using the internal default db user source and the Ignition IdP.

I can login just fine across the VPN. He's connected to the site's WiFi which, while I was onsite, I had no issues with.

Any thoughts?

Try switching browsers?
If that works try deleting cookies on the troublesome one.

I also encounter this issue, I can log in without any problems on the Master gateway but on the backup gateway is where I get stuck on the log in screen.

Is this for a Perspective Client?

{ Note that designers cannot run against a backup server. Project edits must be made on a master gateway. }

yes just a perspective client and login in on the back up gateway site. I'm not trying to open up the designer on the back up server

I already tried deleting the cookies/cache but still same results.

I recommend looking directly at the wrapper log file on the backup server to see if any errors are showing there. (Since you can't use the gateway web page.)

> Hello We’re having trouble with Active Directory on our gateways. When logging in it can sometimes take over 1 minute. Based on the below logs and wireshark screenshot it seems to be an issue in Ignition, i.e. the network and AD server seem fine. These were captured using the identity provider test login function. The IdP is backed by an AD user source. As shown in the images, the login appears to be almost instant, followed by a large period o…
