# \[IGN-18186\] UDT instances break when copied

Inside a UDT, I have a folder of UDT instances. Only the first one updates when that child UDT is changed. After investigating (restarting tags, provider, etc didn't work), I realized that the instances not updated are any that I copied.

The JSON of the instances doesn't seem to indicate there should be a difference between the ones copied and created manually. But repeatedly only the ones created using the "Create a new data type instance" button are updating with the child UDT.

Can anyone else recreate this issue?  
I'm currently on 8.3.7

No, there are no overrides.  
I'm not sure if any changes since 8.3.7 has fixed this issue.  
I see some bug fixes for UDTs but nothing that matches this behavior.

Confirmed to be a bug by IA support.  
I'll reply / mark as solved whenever the relevant update is available.
