# Ignition 7.8 - Add User to Roster via Scripting?

Hello All,

I’m interested in using custom scripting to add users to a roster. I’ve found the script I need to run in order to create new rosters, but I want to avoid using the “Roster Management” component to add/remove users from the roster. Are there scripting functions for doing this, or can it only be done via the Gateway/Roster Management component?

I did a little searching of the forums to see if this question had been asked, but all I was able to find was this [post suggesting the upcoming addition of the script](https://inductiveautomation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=52999&sid=23b3d5f8b0044cb7d42c487945ecaa06#p52999), and wasn’t sure if this had indeed been implemented in 7.8.
