Hi! I’m trying to figure out how add pipelines to my alarms in Ignition 8.

I’ve configured a pipeline and tested it, and it works. Following the guideline from: [Alarm Notification - Ignition User Manual 8.0 - Ignition Documentation](https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC80/Alarm+Notification)
it seems that there should be a Notification section of the alarms section of the tag editor - but mine does not appear to have this.

Am I missing something? How do I get the notification pipeline section to show up?

If this is an Edge project, and please anyone correct me if I’m wrong, the alarm notifications work a little differently. You’ll have to follow the procedure here: [https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC80/Edge+Plugins](https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC80/Edge+Plugins)

I’m using Edge to bring in tags, but was hoping to set up alarm pipelines, etc. through regular Ignition (which we also have licensed). Is this going to be possible?

You can’t directly set up the pipeline on those tags, because, as @rbabcock points out, they’re still actually executing on the Edge system.
It’s not the best workaround in the world, but you can make ‘reference’ tags on the ‘main’ Ignition system that point to the Edge provider’s tags, and set up your custom alarming on those.

Thanks, I think that will be what’s necessary unfortunately.

I’m in the same situation, but I’m not using any plugin. What am I missing?

Looks like you’re missing the alarm notification module in its entirety:

I have the alarm notification module installed and running.
I set up and tested an email alarm notification pipeline…

update: restarting the module and the designer fixed the issue
