Could Corretto 8 instead of Java 8 or OpenJDK 8 work with Ignition? Has anybody tried it?

Any of the JDK 8 variants should work just fine, especially if we're talking about running the Ignition Gateway.

Currently trying to get a client launcher to run without Oracle Java. Will be doing the gateway at some point as well.

Native Client Launchers should include their own version of Java and it's not Oracle.

Note: you can probably use the Ignition **7.9** Native Client Launcher (which as @Kevin.Herron mentions will include a JRE) to target your Ignition 7.7 gateway. I thought I'd include this note since I saw the `ignition77` tag on the post. I don't remember if 7.7.x NCL's got an update to bundle their own JRE--I thought that might have only been w/ 7.9.

Mmm good point, I didn’t notice the tag. I’m not sure either way.

I did that and the launcher seems to be working without a Java install. Couple of odd things:

Sometimes when I launch a client (weather from the launcher or the shortcut) a login screen shows up that did not in the past. I’ll try to log in and it will say that there are too many clients running and then not open the project.

edit: this just seems to have been an issue with how the client closes when you don’t use the command/exit and just close from the taskbar instead.
