# Ignition Historian Question

Hello,

I'm historizing one tag with Sample Mode as "On Change" and other parameters for History settings are as default.

However, When I tried to fetch the data for that tag, I am seeing multiple rows with different time stamp with the same value.

Tag Type: BOOLEAN

My question is why Ignition is historizing if the setting is Sample at "On Change" and values are same?

My Initial thoughts - your tag is changing in quality.  
From the docs @ [Configuring Tag History - Analog](https://www.docs.inductiveautomation.com/docs/8.1/ignition-modules/tag-historian/configuring-tag-history#analog):

> - The system always stores a value when the quality on the tag changes.
