Did you install the driver?

> You’ll need to install the MySQL JDBC Driver. You can find instructions and a link to the driver here: [https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC80/JDBC+Drivers+and+Translators](https://docs.inductiveautomation.com/display/DOC80/JDBC+Drivers+and+Translators) We used to distribute the MySQL JDBC driver with Ignition but we’ve stopped doing so as of Ignition 8 because it’s not allowed by the license.

We would need to see your database connection, log into the gateway web interface \> settings \> databases \> connections \> edit

All signs point to bad password though. Also its not a good practice to use the root user, you should create one for ignition to use.
