I did some digging around in an effort to help, and I found these resources that look like they could be of assistance:

• [Java WebSocketBuilder Documentation](https://docs.oracle.com/en/java/javase/11/docs/api/java.net.http/java/net/http/HttpClient.html#newWebSocketBuilder())

I would like to know, if Ignition is using websocket data streaming between the client and the server, like they do in online trading platforms. BTW, does NJSCADA do webstreming for the clients?. …

> Hi. I have temperature sensors that have an API using WebSocket protocol (wss). I imported the library [https://pypi.org/project/websocket-client/](https://pypi.org/project/websocket-client/) to create a WebSocket client. My script for establishing a connection: import websocket ws = websocket.WebSocket() ws.connect("wss://echo.websocket.org") ws.send("Hello, Server") print(ws.recv()) If I use “ws://” connection created, but if I use “wss://” i get error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "\<input\>", line 4, in \<module\> Fil…

> Ignition uses the jetty libraries to run its webserver and provide its HTTP(s) clients. That includes websocket support. Start with Jetty's [Programming Guide](https://www.eclipse.org/jetty/documentation/jetty-11/programming-guide/index.html). However, you will need to adjust for the version of Jetty provided by Ignition, which is v9.4. So use [these javadocs](https://www.eclipse.org/jetty/javadoc/jetty-9/index.html) instead of the v11 javadocs. Edit: Hmmm. It appears that Ignition does not package Jetty's websocket client library. You may need to use Java 11's native support: [https://docs.oracle.com/en/java/javase/11/docs/api/java…](https://docs.oracle.com/en/java/javase/11/docs/api/java.net.http/java/net/http/package-summary.html)
