# Import straight XML into the report builder?

Is there already a way to import just a straight xml file that keeps you reporting format relatively the same?

A customer handed me a copy of their final report format and wants it re-created, I had it converted to xml hoping I could copy and paste it into the report designer but no luck there. Is there an easy way to import report formats and make small tweaks from there?

XML is just a text serialization format - do you have an Ignition report in XML format or do you have some PDF or other document that you converted to XML?

If it's the latter, there's nothing to do, because there's no way to map from a final document output back into an Ignition report (no matter what format it's in).
