Hi all,

I have a weird problem which sometimes occurs. If I change the version number of a module and do a gradle build and then use the “Install or Upgrade module” then everything appears to work. The gateway does its usual restart but then if I check the version number of the module it is not the new module version, it’s still the old version. To get my updated module on the gateway I have to uninstall the current module, restart the gateway and then install the new one.

I’m sure it’s just some quirk with inductiveautomation/ignition:8.3.0-rc1 and will be fixed at some point but I’m just wondering if anybody else is running into this issue?

Huh... anybody from IA acknowledged this yet or should I make a ticket?

Not yet acknowledged. FWIW, it wasn't a problem with early alphas. If that helps find it.

{Still on my first cup of coffee....}

I’m also currently developing a web config module that is updating perfectly so there’s something a little odd going on

We are experiencing the same issue when developing our 8.3 modules.

The Alpha build doesn’t have issues when upgrading a module but in order to install a different version (whether upgrading or downgrading) onto the Beta build, the old module must be uninstalled first before the new version is installed.
