# Issue with initial\_application\_project\_urls key on Perspective Mobile App for iOS

I can’t seem to get a managed configuration setting working on iOS Perspective Mobile App for the _initial\_application\_project\_urls_ key. I followed the instructions at [Ignition Perspective Mobile App | Ignition User Manual](https://www.docs.inductiveautomation.com/docs/8.1/ignition-modules/perspective/perspective-sessions/ignition-perspective-app#managed-configurations)

and sample AppConfig XML at [Extra Ignition Materials | Inductive Automation](https://inductiveautomation.com/downloads/extra-material)

Other keys are working fine (_initial\_gateway\_urls_, _hide\_demo, internal\_webview\_auth_) so I’m not sure what’s going on.

I’m using the free trial version of SimpleMDM to test. Here is my configuration:

<dict>
<key>hide_demo</key>
<true/>
<key>initial_gateway_urls</key>
<array>
<string>https://myserver.company.com:8043</string>
</array>
<key>initial_application_project_urls</key>
<array>
<string>https://myserver.company.com:8043/data/perspective/client/myproject</string>
</array>
</dict>
</plist>

```

Luckily the _initial\_gateway\_urls_ key is working so our users can launch the app, and browse all of the available projects and pick the one they want but it would be nice if it was already available on the home screen to click.

The sample AppConfig XML mentions that we do not even need to set _initial\_gateway\_urls_ if _initial\_application\_project\_urls_ is configured so I tried it both ways. I also tried removing the setting for _hide\_demo_ with no luck.

I figured it out with some trial and error. Looks like _initial\_application\_project\_urls_ key requires you to also set _initial\_application\_is\_favorite_ and _initial\_application\_name\_aliases_ keys.

The below Managed Configuration is working for us now:

<dict>
<key>internal_webview_auth</key>
<true/>
<key>hide_demo</key>
<true/>
<key>initial_application_project_urls</key>
<array>
<string>https://myserver.company.com:8043/data/perspective/client/myproject</string>
</array>
<key>initial_application_is_favorite</key>
<array>
<string>false</string>
</array>
<key>initial_application_name_aliases</key>
<array>
<string>My Project Alias</string>
</array>
</dict>
</plist>

```
